Warwickshire is one of our regular working counties and it covers a broad range of settings.

The north of the county, around Nuneaton, Bedworth and Atherstone, shares a good deal with west Leicestershire — former industrial and coalfield ground, where what is underneath a garden is not always what you would expect from looking at it. Assessing before specifying is not optional here.

Further south, around Warwick, Leamington, Kenilworth and Stratford, the character changes entirely. Period property is common, conservation areas are widespread, and the expectation of finish is high.

Georgian and Victorian houses need a material palette that answers to them, and the detailing matters — how a step meets a wall, how a coping finishes, how an edge is restrained. These are the details that separate a well-built garden from an adequate one, and in this part of the county they get noticed.

Rural plots across the south of the county are often large, level and exposed, with the same requirements as any big open garden: structure, division and shelter, or the space simply does not get used.
